The Worlds First Self Starting Model Turbine
The Worlds First Self Starting Model Turbine
Features :
  • Fully automatic turbine start up by a command from the R/C transmitter without external connections. No compressed air. No starting equipment.
  • Available in 7 thrust classes.13.5lb, 16lbs, 17lbs, 27lbs, 36lbs, 40lb, 50lb and as the PHT3 which is a purpose made unit for helicopters.
  • Turbine starts without compressed air or fans. Automatic cooling down when the turbine is shut down.
  • Precision ceramic ball bearings for low maintenance.
  • High performance turbine wheel which is fully tested.
  • Integrated glow driver with a separate function to check the glow plug.
  • Turbine supervision and regulation assisted by measurement of RPM and exhaust gas temperature.
  • Multi-stage electronic system to ensure reliable operation.
  • Connection to the R/C system via 1 receiver channel. A second switched channel is required to operate air speed sensor or smoke system.
  • Rapid throttle response time.
  • Programmable minimum and maximum RPM within the allowable range.
  • The fully automatic start up and running procedure minimises operator handling faults that could result in damaging the turbine.
  • Plain text display of the current running parameters including: exhaust gas temperature, RPM, fuel consumption, remaining fuel, last run time, total run time, battery voltage, turbine condition, reason for last shut down etc.

Functions Of The Jet-tronic ECU:
The Jet-tronic Electronic Control Unit is a state of the art microprocessor control system for operating all JetCat turbines. The ECU tremendously simplifies start up and assures safe turbine operation. When hazardous situations are detected the ECU attempts to correct the problem or shut down the turbine. The precision fuel pump control utilises a PID servo filter, which compensates for changing battery voltage, altitude and fuel flow restrictions. Regardless of conditions the ECU will maintain minimum and maximum turbine RPM within safe limits. ECU connection is achieved via One receiver channel. A second channel is required if the optional air speed sensor or smoke system is required. The ECU also features in flight low fuel and low battery warning systems. Power up your receiver and the ECU is automatically switched on. No extra power switch is needed.

Display And Programming Device (GSU):
Display And Programming Device The ground support unit (GSU) features an illuminated 2-lines by 16-character alphanumeric LCD display. In addition there are 10 switches and 4 control LED's. The GSU can be connected to the ECU for monitoring the turbine, displaying statistical information or to alter running parameters. All parameters are displayed in clear text through a series of menus.

Running parameters include: Exhaust gas temperature, RPM, Pump voltage, etc.

Statistical data includes: Total fuel consumption, total turbine time, maximum RPM, number of starts, OK/Failed, run time, fuel consumption, battery voltage, flight speed etc.

JetCat turbine packages include: JetCat turbine packages

Options:
  • The optional air speed sensor can limit the turbine thrust to restrict the maximum flight speed. The pilot can also place the system into the "speed control" mode, in which the Jet-tronic regulates the flight-speed of the model automatically. It regulates the speed like a cruise control in a car i.e The pilot sets the desired flight speed with the throttle stick. The regulation of the turbine thrust is then controlled by the Jet-tronic ECU automatically. After the landing, both the maximum and average flight speeds can be displayed with the GSU.
  • air speed sensor
    RS-232 serial interface
  • Using the optional RS-232 serial interface and Windows hosted software, the Jet-tronic ECU can be linked to a computer for downloading operational data (temperature, RPM, throttle position, pump voltage, air speed, etc.) This software also allows the operator to start and stop the turbine with the click of the mouse.
